About

Dr. Asif Iqbal is a renowned gastroenterologist, hepatologist, and interventional endoscopist in Bihar. He has an excellent academic record. He obtained his MBBS degree from IMS BHU with three gold medals and completed his MD in internal medicine again from IMS BHU Varanashi, He was all India topper in the AIIMS DM entrance exam and obtained his DM degree in gastroenterologists and hepatology from the prestigious and top institute of India i.e. AIIMS new Delhi.

Dr. Asif has worked as senior pool officer in AIIMS new Delhi, head of gastroenterologists and advanced GI endoscopy unit in NMCH,sasaram and as a senior consultant in paras HMRI hosptal patna. During these years. he has successfully diagnosed like UGIE, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, third space endoscopy. He also trained various helth care profession, Nurcing staff and endoscopy technicians.

He has saved sevral lives by performing various therapeutic endoscopic procedures for which he got various media coverage and honours by several social organisation .

  1. Established advanced endoscopy unit in NMCH SASARAM.
  2. Provided training to nursing staff for complex endoscopic procedures ,like Endoscopic hemostatic clip application, ERCP, EUS FNAC ,EUS Guided celiac plexus block in a medical college in rural area of Bihar, having minimum resources.
  3. Established liver clinic in NMCH ,SASARAM.
  4. Created awareness regarding liver related diseases and Hepatitis B immunization ,in rural areas of Sasaram.
  5. Performed first endoscopic hemostatic clip NMCH SASARAM.
